The 4Cs
Like a human fingerprint, every diamond mined from mother nature has a unique distinguishing characteristics. The globally accepted standards for assessing the quality of a diamond consists of 4Cs Cut, Clarity, Color and Carat Weight. Combination of all these 4 Cs determine the value of a diamond.
Cut
Cut refers to not only the shape of the diamonds, but its proportions and finish, factors which determine the sparkle and brightness of the diamond. Better the cut more the light will reflect back from diamond which gives more sparkle to diamond.Cut is graded as Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair & Poor.
Clarity
Clarity is a measure of the purity and rarity of the stone. It is graded based on the number, location, size, and type of the inclusions found in a diamond. These can be considered as diamond birthmarks.Clarity is graded as Flawless (FL). Internally Flawless (IF), VVS1, VVS2, VS1, VS2, SI1, SI2, I1, I2,I3.
Color
Diamond Color actually means lack of Color, it refers to the natural tint inherent in white diamonds. Color is Graded alphabetically, Colorless (D-F), Near Colorless (G-J), Faint (K-M), Very Light (K-R), Light (S-Z)
Carat
Carat denotes the weight of a diamond. More the carat weight bigger is the diamond
